This Month in Church School… June 2013
DANIEL - A Believer in Babylon
Children learn that Daniel and his friends were captive in a foreign land and lived with daily pressures to conform to the king’s way and not God’s way. Children learn how Daniel and his friends said NO to each pressure situation and remained faithful to God. Like Daniel and his friends, children experience a "food test" and learn that choices they make today can affect their lives. A story in the Storytelling Workshop helps children identify daily pressures that challenge their choice to live in God’s way. An air pressure science experiment helps children visually see how they can release bad pressure and rely on God’s Word and faithfulness. As they learn that Daniel made a difference in the lives of many for standing up for his beliefs, children are introduced to other children that have made a difference in the lives of many. A "Spiritual Walk" workshop takes them on a path that leads to spiritual stations where they use their five senses to practice spiritual disciplines that help connect their minds, bodies, and hearts with the light of the Holy Spirit.
