    Our Plan

    To create a network, known as the Interfaith Hospitality Network, to provide shelter, meals and assistance to homeless families.

    Our Program

    A cost effective program utilizing existing resources, volunteers and services to provide families with the assistance they need to move beyond a temporary crisis of homelessness.

    To be part of the solution to end homelessness in Manatee County by helping families in the situation of homelessness regain their independence.

     
     

    Family Promise Update 

    The most recent family we hosted, Natalie and four children, have moved into transitional housing.  Thanks go out to many church members who helped and donated much needed items.  Natalie earned her CNA training and has a job working 7am - 7pm in a personal residence.  She could still use some Walmart gift cards for various small items and purchase of food.  Now that they are on their own, they don't get the delicious meals provided each evening at a church.  That's one of the things they miss!

     

    The Board members are sponsoring a fund raising event for Family Promise.  It will be a banquet at the River House (located in Palmetto at the end of the pier, Regatta Pointe Marina).  They are hoping to have all the tables ($500 for a table of 8) paid for by corporate sponsors or individuals.  Then, the people occupying those tables will be willing to spend money on the silent and possibly live auction.  Several churches will be donating "baskets with themes" to be raffled.  They are looking for a speaker that would draw an audience.  Also, if you have anything you would like to donate to the auction, just let me know!  If you or someone you know would like to sponsor a table, please contact Ginny enunnjr@tampabay.rr.com or Jim Bode  jim@bodeonline.org.   This event will be August 20th from 5:30 - 9:30 pm.
