An Overview

Manatee Children's Services was founded by matching grants from the Aurora Foundation and the Selby Foundation in 1977. Since that time, due to the growing needs in our community MCS has expanded to 11 programs touching the lives of over 18,000 children and families annually.
MCS operates the only Emergency Shelter in Manatee County for children who are removed from their homes due to abuse, abandonment and/or neglect.
